Dance, words and music at Palazzo da Mosto. A series of events, from 19 October to 10 November, to promote the social and cultural life of the historic center of Reggio Emilia, particularly in an area so far little frequented.
‘Meetings at Palazzo (Incontri a Palazzo)’ is a project conceived by the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza/Aterballetto and Aliberti Lab, in collaboration with the Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali Peri-Merulo, and supported by the Fondazione Manodori and Par.Co. The Renaissance complex of Palazzo da Mosto, in via Mari 7, has been restored by the Fondazione Manodori to be made accessible to a wide public and institutions in the area.

Compagnia Sanpapié
A[1]Bit
choreography by Lara Guidetti
After the success of the 2nd edition of the Festa della Danza – Una giornata in Fonderia on May 5, the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza hosts again in Reggio Emilia the hypnotic choreography A[1]Bit of the Compagnia Sanpapié. The dancers will accompany the spectators, equipped with headphones, in the rooms of Palazzo da Mosto: through an itinerant choreography, to the rhythm of postmodern music by the New York artist Tristan Perich, we will experience a fascinating immersion in the history of one of the most important Renaissance residences in Reggio Emilia, in a blend of images of the past and contemporary experiences.

New edition of the site-specific project of dance and photography, which will also be represented in the construction site of a new social space in Milan on 23 and 24 November, thanks to the support of Fondazione Cariplo. In Reggio Emilia, the protagonists of the project In/Finito – six performers of the company Aterballetto – dance the six choreographies at Palazzo da Mosto, in whose rooms in 2018 was presented for the first time the project, born in collaboration with Fondazione Palazzo Magnani / Fotografia Europea. The exhibition context is represented by the new photographies by Toni Thorimbert, which portray the performers in emblematic spaces of some of the suburban areas of Milan.

Meeting with the author
Saturday 19 October h 18.30
Vauro and Loris Mazzetti
presentation of the book La Zecca
“The usual radical chic communist.” The “red tick” is none other than him, Vauro Senesi in art Vauro. Not only the greatest Italian cartoonist of these years (this is now an established title and earned in the field): but a full-fledged columnist, a maître a penser (but he would certainly horrify this definition) with the pencil. In La Zecca you will find the most corrosive jokes of the most corrosive Italian satirical author. Always bad, sometimes very bad. Almost always politically incorrect, or hyper-corrected. To love or to hate, as it happens for its author. On this day in Reggio Emilia, Vauro will be joined by his friend Loris Mazzetti, a journalist who grew up with Enzo Biagi, presenter and director of Rai.

Don Massimo Camisasca, Edoardo Tincani, Alessandro Di Nuzzo and Stefano Scansani
Presentation of Di luci e ombre. Dialoghi sulla vita quotidiana
A dialogue on the fundamental themes of human life between a bishop and a family man. Not a theological treatise, but a shared and in certain respects complementary reading of experiences lived in the common search for the taste, meaning and necessity of Christian commitment in the world.
The meeting will be introduced by Aliberti’s editorial director, Alessandro Di Nuzzo, and conducted by the director of the Gazzetta di Reggio, Stefano Scansani, who will in turn dialogue with the protagonists.

Pedalando coast to coast
Valerio Miselli, Vincenzo Morlini with the participation of the councilor Carlotta Bonvicini
The passion for cycling involves and unites like few other activities in the world, not only sports. Fabrizio and Vincenzo, longtime friends, discovered it when they already had family and professional commitments. Now they can proudly say that they have cycled for thousands of kilometers, climbing mountains, challenging themselves in cycling exploits that seemed impossible. The biggest dream, however, was to cross the United States from east to west, when the circumstances of life had allowed him to. Four other friends of their generation, Marco, Valerio, Giovanni and Adriano, were involved in this dream: the answer was enthusiastic. And so, without thinking too much about it, they left.
“The Coast to Coast, from New York to San Francisco, is not just a longer or more challenging bike ride than others: it is the answer to a desire inherent in the depths of the soul, to continue to enrich life, strengthen friendship, live intense emotions and a challenge to the relentless passage of time. It fills us with pride and satisfaction to have made it”. (Fabrizio and Vincenzo)

Reggiane yesterday, today and especially tomorrow
Michele Bellelli, Alessandro Di Nuzzo, Luca Torri (ad Stu Reggiane)
The Officine Meccaniche Reggiane, always known as the Reggiane, were not only a large and important factory that has gone through the social and economic seasons of the twentieth century. Not only “a company, work, technology, the place of social promotion, hope and struggle” as the historian Massimo Storchi recalls. They have been much more and different: “a piece of the experience of a community that still feels part of that story today and, in some way, heir. The people of the Reggiane, the generations of workers who have succeeded one another in those now legendary warehouses – and still impressive to the eye of the visitor – have profoundly changed not only their personal history, but their collective history. And today? What is the impact of Reggiane on the city? What is the future of the complex?
Afterwards, an aperitif based on Lambrusco Campanone offered by Cantine Lombardini

Antonio Padellaro, Massimiliano Panarari
Presentation of Il gesto di Almirante e Berliguer
It really happened. We know their names: Giorgio Almirante and Enrico Berlinguer. Now we know that they met four or six times between 1978 and 1979. We know that the place chosen was a room, next to the Labour Commission, on the top floor of Montecitorio. We know that they were preferably seen in the parliamentary desert on Friday afternoons. We know that only four men knew about them, three of whom died. There was only one witness left: his name was Massimo Magliaro, at the time he was the spokesman for Almirante and the head of the MSI press office. Almirante and Berlinguer had decided to exchange confidential information. But the talks between the two leaders also represent a gesture, a noble way of understanding politics of which today, in the era of social and media insult, no trace remains.

It’s called cancer. Do we still have to be afraid?
presentation of Alessandra Ferretti’s book with the doctors of Core
This book, through six conversations with six Reggio Emilia health professionals who each lead a key phase of the oncological path, aims to reconstruct a communication of “cancer disease” as balanced as possible. On the one hand, to free it from all the metaphors, peripheries and images that have characterized it up to now, identifying it with how much more insane there is in society. On the other hand, to underline the danger of certain extreme definitions, which spread a rhetoric according to which those who fight win and, consequently, lose those who succumb. It is clear to everyone that this is not just a linguistic problem. Talking about cancer in the right way within the relationship between doctor and patient, as we know, is already a way to start the therapy positively. And at a time when the number of cancer patients is increasing, but also the number of available therapies is increasing, it is all the more necessary for this message to be extended to healthy citizens. Cancer is a social issue as well as a health issue.
