The City of Dance – spring/summer 2019 brings together all the initiatives that the  Fondazione Nazionale della Danza/Aterballetto dedicated to his city, waiting for the NID Platform 2019, an event that will make full and recognizable Reggio Emilia from 10 to 13 October Italian capital of dance.
From March to summer in various places of the city are programmed several events, open to all, which for us represent important opportunities for sharing and dialogue with those who live in Reggio Emilia.

Many of the events on the calendar are final moments of projects that have involved students of institutional schools, students of dance schools or musicians of the Istituto Peri. “The City of Dance” is an opportunity for the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza/Aterballetto to make its educational and social work visible to all citizens, particularly in the context of the Polo delle Arti promoted together with the Municipality, the Fondazione I Teatri and the Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali ‘A.Peri’. And to underline the openness to different dimensions (childhood or fragility) and the renewed ability to propose important performance events.

Building the Future

The choreographer Saul Daniele Ardillo and the dramaturg Simone Giorgi, accompanied by the pedagogues and researchers of Reggio Children, meet the children of a nursery, a kindergarten and a primary school. Starting from the children’s clues, they will draw useful material for the creation of a show dedicated to the imagination of childhood.

Leggere per...ballare | La bellezza non svanirà

A journey into the word beauty, narrated in novels, fairy tales and myths. The show, interpreted by the students of the schools associated with F.N.A.S.D. and curated in some aspects also by the Liceo Artistico Chierici, is aimed at the students of the schools, who recognize in the choreography the themes and texts addressed together with Casa delle Storie | Teatro dell’Orsa.

Virtuous Bodies | Public Meeting

Together with theatre critic Antonio Audino and psychiatrist Thomas Emmenegger, we will discuss performative research, reflection and production on different forms of virtuosity, which integrate disability. With the support of Gruppo Credem. In collaboration and with the support of Reggio Emilia Città senza Barriere and the Consorzio Romero.

The performing arts enter the didactics thanks to the Polo delle Arti and Officina Educativa, creating interdisciplinary paths.
