Two movements meet and combine heterogeneous elements. Different codes and characters create crossings whose hybridity makes them appear discordant. En pointe work is integrated with street dance popping in combinations and melodious chords that are reflected in the mix of afro-american sounds in Romare’s music.
Different dance styles, often considered opposites, burst through the barriers of their own genres, almost as if to reach a positive syncretism.
