Very often the common ‘field of work’, shared with the partners, is the contemporary city. With its urban and social contradictions, compared to historical and contemporary stratifications. In this specific project, we have decided to privilege public space over theatres.
The aim is to offer the citizen the opportunity to become a spectator – voluntary or even involuntary – of new types and shades of experience. The concept of creation, like that of interdisciplinarity, has taken on an innovative aspect compared to the canons that are all too crystallised in live performance. From the ‘vision’ of a performance we move on to the ‘experience’ of a performance (and of the various places it passes through).
We are interested in and passionate about finding places, within a city, which potentially have a visionary status of their own, related to history, urban planning but also to the sociological interpretations of these spaces. This allows us, by inviting the spectator, to involve them in a more complex narrative than that limited to performance, placing them at the centre of an experience and an imaginative world that brings into play broader themes, such as urban regeneration and the connection of these suburbs with the central neighbourhoods.
In/Finitowas our first approach to the theme in 2018 and then developed more and more widely into the Creative Europe An Ideal City / MicroDanze project.
