For us, being interested in the ‘fragile’ categories means exploring the theme of virtuosity in a broad meaning, always focused on aesthetic value, but far from conservative canons.
This is a real path that embraces both the programming and the design and production levels: on the one hand, the presentation of performances with disabled and not-disabled performers within the season of performances at the Fonderia; on the other hand, the openness to moments of reflection and artistic research connected with the condition of fragility, in the interest of the very meaning of ‘virtuosity’, avoiding the reduction of projects to merely ‘inclusive’ logics.
The wide-ranging DANZA&FRAGILITÀ (DANCE&FRAGILITY) project of 2019 has opened the way to new horizons that we continue to look at both by producing creations with disabled artists, which are included in our repertoire, and by organising events, workshops and advanced training courses related to the world of disability.
