Visions of the body: discovering contemporary art through auteur dance.
A “dancing encyclopedia” that speaks of the world through dance, placing the body at the center of the human experience. This is the new project by CCN / Aterballetto, a series of six cultural dissemination events that, from May 27 to November 29, 2024, will fill the halls of the Fonderia in Reggio Emilia. Connecting the arts, movement, and current events, the meetings address themes such as psychological well-being, the relationship with the city, the future, and ecology through an experimental cultural medium.
Nicolas Ballario, journalist, curator, and communicator, introduces the topic of the debate, which, moving between dance and contemporary arts, reflects on the body from a different perspective each time. Each meeting is divided into six moments, dedicated to the works of six artists chosen to explore the main theme: famous faces of contemporary art, well known to the general public. Each meeting will be interpreted by a choreographer from the contemporary scene, who will translate the suggestions of the discussed works into dance with a new performance specifically designed for the project.
Second event: Sunday, June 23, 6:30 PM

On the evening dedicated to The Naked Body, the choreographer will present Metamorphosis, a work focusing on the ancestral, animal, and primitive body, in three short pieces: Larva, Blatta, and Sapiens.
