Stravaganze in G Minor by Francesca Lattuada arrives at the Abano Danza Festival.
The magical virtuosity of Toti Scialoja (1914-1998), a master not only of images but also of words, played with by a dancer and a baritone, is the basis of this new creation for children and teenagers, signed by the National Dance Foundation / Aterballetto.
The almost magical vibrations that flow from Scialoja’s poems are like the infinite rings created on the surface of the water when a stone is thrown: evoking unreal or hyper-real images, carrying a musicality that mixes poetry and nursery rhyme, making the extraordinary and the frightening join hands.
Under a tuft of scarlet roses
The toad offers hot tea with milk
Under a tuft of purple roses
The toad has to wash the cups.
(Toti Scialoja, Hamlet’s Apple, 1984)
