From November 28th to December 12th, 2023, dance meets cultural diplomacy and travels the world with Italia Danza: the new project of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Maeci) curated by CCN/Aterballetto.
Realized through the General Directorate for Public and Cultural Diplomacy, the project takes place in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institutes, with the support of the Emilia-Romagna Region and the City of Reggio Emilia. The goal of Italia Danza is simple: to enhance the Italian Cultural Institutes, places that represent cultural diplomacy par excellence in the world, by bringing some creations of the only National Choreographic Center of our country: the CCN/Aterballetto. A cosmopolitan project, entrusted to the universal language of the body, which CCN/Aterballetto interprets with its rich heritage of site-specific creations.
The Brussels stage is characterized by collaboration with the European Commission, which helps bring the MicroDances to the ancient St. Gery market, renovated by the Municipality of Brussels to make it a multifunctional space open to the public. The show is included in the program of activities of the 2023 edition of the Forum Cities and Regions for International Partnership, promoted every two years by the European Commission together with the European Committee of the Regions, to show Mayors and Presidents of Regions from the four continents an interesting artistic proposal for the enhancement of recovered urban public spaces.
