Eclectic and complete artist, Francesca Lattuada starts from a diploma in Fine Arts, followed by several theatrical seminars with Luca Ronconi, Tadeus Kantor and Jerzy Grotowski. In 1985, she moved to France (which would become her adopted homeland), devoting herself mainly to contemporary dance, improving her skills with Hans Züllig and Jacques Patarozzi and approaching spectacular oriental art forms such as Nô Theatre, Kabuki, Indian dance and singing.

After his collaborations with Catherine Diverrès and François Verret, in 1990 he founded his own company, Festina Lente, with which he signed Simplicissimus (1990), Hilarotragoedia (1991), Les dieux sont fâchés (1993-94), Zirkus (1996), Le Testament d’Ismaïl Zotos (1997), works in which the various theatrical influences combine in an essential, refined and highly aesthetic language.

The versatile spirit of Lattuada is also expressed in its involvement in the choreography of traditional carnivals and processions, in the cities of Metz and Annecy, as well as in the staging for the Strasbourg Opera of the work Parabola for church performance by Britten reinterpreted in the style of the Teatro Nô. The consecration, however, comes mainly with La tribù Iota, a show created in 2000 for the sixteen young students leaving the CNAC, the National Centre of Circus Arts of Chalôns-en-Champagne, whose imagination and effervescence earned him a long tour as well as international acclaim.

Her latest works include Ostinato, a solo tailored for the dancer Rita Quaglia, and Allegro macabro, part of a diptych co-signed with the Japanese choreographer Saburo Teshigawara, which premiered at the Grand Théâtre de Genève in May 2006.

Francesca Lattuada sang and danced with jazz guitarist Manu Codjia at the Songs concert at the 2008 edition of Nuits Blanches in Paris.
In November 2017, she created the choreography and the costumes of Ballet Royale de la Nuit with Ensemble Correspondances, directed by Sébastien Daucé (performed at the Théâtre de Caen, under the direction of Patrick Foll). In October 2018, she staged Rossini’s Cinderella at the Teatro delle Muse in Ancona. A reprise of the Ballet Royal de la Nuit was scheduled for 2020 (Théâtre de Champs-Elysées in Paris, Théâtre de Caen, Opéra de Rouen, Théâtre de Luxembourg, Opéra Royale de Versailles…).
