Fernando Melo is a choreographer and director creating works for dance, theater and opera companies worldwide. Among the dance companies he has choreographed for are: Göteborgsoperans Danskompani (Sweden), Skånes Dansteaters (Sweden), Aterballetto, Reggio Emilia (Italy), Introdans, Arnhem (The Netherlands), Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, München (Germany) Luzerner Theater (Switzerland), Norrdans, Härnösand (Sweden), Aspen Santa Fe Ballet (U.S.A.), Ballet Hispanico, New York ( U.S.A.), Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Düsseldorf (Germany).

Fernando also works with opera productions. His recent projects include works for: La Monnaie, Brussels, (Belgium), Théâtre du Capitole, Toulouse (France), Oper Köln, Cologne (Germany), Vocal Futures, London (U.K.)., Teatro Comunale di Bologna (Italy).

For Aterballetto he created, within MicroDanze, The Bell Jar (2021).
