Impromptus – new dance and music project
Arias, Dances, and Improvisation
The Centro Coreografico Nazionale / Aterballetto and Fondazione Ravenna Manifestazioni join forces once again to bring to life a new project: Impromptus. Arias, Dances, and Improvisation, where dance and music meet, intertwine, and transform into unique performances. Their goal is to create a creative space where choreographers and musicians work side by side, shaping works that emerge from improvisation and mutual inspiration.
The project aims to explore new ways of interaction between movement and sound, fostering a fluid and spontaneous relationship between the two disciplines. Through artistic experimentation, dancers and musicians push beyond the traditional boundaries of composition, creating brief performances that capture the intensity of this encounter.
Today, improvisation is a rather vague term, often referring only to a degree of autonomy in creation. True improvisation, however, is at the heart of the Impromptus project. It arises from the meeting of artists from different disciplines, who, within a space and together with the audience, create something that we could not even imagine beforehand. We eagerly anticipate this almost magical moment.
